Todays blog is a little different as it’s not fashion related, but all about cheap furniture shopping. Recently a lot of people have been asking me where to find cute inexpensive furniture. Fun fact, I studied Interior Design and am currently working at an architectural firm; mind you selecting furniture and finishes is not the extent of my job, I do spend a little more time on furniture sourcing than the average joe. Some of my fav places to look for cute modern and inexpensive furniture is listed below.
Structube
Hands down has some of the cutest and most inexpensive furniture out there. I am sure my first home will be filled with a ton of their stuff. Quality wise, you are getting what you are paying for, so no down filled sofas or premium fabrics but perfect for a starter. Structure - https://www.structube.com/en/
Homesense
I love a good hunt, so Homesense is always a joy for me. You can find some great quality pieces for amazing prices. This would be my first stop when looking for affordable furniture. You do need to hunt and visit frequently, or check multiple locations if you are looking for something specific, but I think its definitely worth the extra work if you are on a budget.
Ikea
okay, before you roll your eyes, Ikea has some beautiful and modern pieces if you look properly. The last few times I took an Ikea walk, I have been thoroughly impressed. They are also one of the top eco friendly companies in the world!! So you can feel good when shopping their products too and a lot of the time you can’t beat the price. Just in case you don’t believe me here are a couple of my current favorite modern items from Ikea. Getting into some mid range shops-
CB2
CB2 has a huge range of products and most are to die for.. that being said they are on the higher $$ side. You can find a few reasonably pieced items or maybe you are looking for a piece to splurge on.. this is where I would do it! Fun fact - CB2 is the modern younger brother of Crate and Barrel. West Elm
The Queen of mid century modern furniture. They have some super cute items and do have regular sales on their items. Keep an eye out on their promotions and you can easily score 20% off. That being said, they are the sister to Pottery Barn so do have a higher price tag on regular priced items. West Elm - http://www.westelm.ca/ If you don’t mind online shopping-
Wayfair
Wayfair has everything you can imagine so no curation on this site. You can find some good deals if you are willing to spend some time cruising the web. Wayfair - https://www.wayfair.ca/
Rove Concept or Article
Both these sites have some super cute and curated items. Worth looking at if you are okay with buying without actually seeing or touching the product. Article - https://www.article.com/ Rove Concept - https://www.roveconcepts.com/
Urban outfitters
UO online has quite a nice online “apartment” section. Again, you wouldn’t be able to see or feel, but definitely worth a look to see if they stock what you are looking for!
I hope these help you get your home shopping on! Enjoy!
