Buy when you see, not when you need!

This probably counters a lot of things you have been taught about making purchases, but it is one of my top tips on how to score a great deal. We have all been there -- the more you need something, the harder it is to find. For example: when you need to find a dress to wear to a wedding, the likelihood of actually finding it is so slim! In my experience, I probably ended up settling for something that was “okay” versus something I loved. Now, I am always on the hunt for EVERYTHING.
This way, I am never scrambling to find something I need. Know yourself, your lifestyle and figure out the items that you can purchase way in advance. Buying a good sweater or pair of boots at the end of a winter season sets you up perfectly for next fall, and buying a dress that you know you can wear to a wedding, party or formal event will save you from a big headache later on.
Here are some of my favorite purchases I grabbed on sale when I didn’t necessarily need them:

Zara
Trench
–
Picked up one of my favorite Trench Coats for $25 from the Zara winter sale in January. Didn’t get to wear it until spring!

Red New Year's Dress
–
I snagged this amazing BCBG gown for $65 in the fall and ended up rocking it at a New Year's event.

Kate Spade Statement Clutch
–
Scooped up my favorite statement bag smack down in the middle of the winter from the Kate Spade outlet for just under $40! I wear it all the time to spice up my summer looks.

Blundstones
–
Blundstones rarely go on sale, but I found these guys in the spring for 40% off. Worth the scoop!

Cowboy
Boots
-
You never know when you need a good pair of cowboy boots! My sister and I picked these up from a pop up Nordstrom sale. They were only $10, down from over $200. Still waiting for them to jump into style so I can wear them to more than just a good country show. Nevertheless, already worth the $10!
