Dress like a pro when going shopping

If you know me, you know how much I love to shop! That being said, you need to be in the right mindset and outfit to have a successful shopping trip. Here are a few key things to keep in mind when dressing for your visit to the mall: 

Basics

Make sure that when you go shopping, you are wearing basics - no matter what you try on, it will match your base layer. Simple tees and classic denims are usually my go-to.  Also, dresses: the worst for shopping. How can you tell if an item looks good when you are looking at yourself in the mirror with a beauty top, but no pants? Or, awesome pants but no top? Been there, done that - it’s not fun.

Easy Ins and Outs 

Not only do you want something that goes with everything, you want to make sure it is easy to hop into and out of.  I am sure we have all been in the fitting room trying on a dress with our pants around our ankles because our shoes or pants are too much of a hassle to take off! Let’s try and avoid this by wearing clothes that are easy enough to take on and off. Ditch the impossible-to-do-up top with button backs and sandals that lace up.

Temperature 

Dressing for the proper temperature is key when shopping - no one wants to shop when they are sweating or freezing - I don’t even know which of the two is worse! In the winter, you don’t want to dress too warmly because the malls are usually well-heated. I usually sport a light winter coat and light basic layer. In the summer, you don’t want to dress too light, as the malls usually have the AC blasting. Most of the time, I’ll bring a light jacket or rock a long-sleeved shirt.

Shoes 

Comfort usually stems from the feet when walking around. If you’re shopping, you’re most likely getting those steps in! Make sure to wear a pair of shoes that you know you can last in. Also, keep in mind that they should be fairly easy to throw on and off (as mentioned before).
